Hi guys.
I have tried to install a new 5505 portable phone at a customer without success.
I took it back to my office and set it up there, and it works perfectly.
I had to eventually put a static IP address in, to make it work.
i also had to enable the DHCP on the Mitel box even though static IPs were set up.

However onsite at the customer, whether i use DHCP or Static, it comes up with the DN735 and iREG.

I do ecactly like i do at the office...and still 735 iREG.
I have deleted the device and recreated.
I have changed the password to 1234, and 0000, still no luck.

once the phone is sitting at iREG, i do a reregitration with ^key pressed with 734, and then 735#1234# and then press speaker key to no success.
i have tried ^key with 234, and i can see that the DHCP finds all the right info.
the IP is 11.73.21.2
the gateway is 11.73.21.1
subnet 255.255.255.0
ICP/TFTP 11.73.16.40
Vlan 500

i have at least 80 phones using the DHCP and working perfectly, but i cannot register the portable phone no matter what.

this same phone works on my network?

any ideas would be appreciated

regards

Russel

I assume that the 1234 and 0000 are the registration pin and the wireless pin?
I do note that your controller is on a different subnet than your ICP by using the 255.255.255.0 subnet mask. Is this correct?
How is your DHCP configured? Are your switches using lldp med? If so perhaps the switch is not identifying that this is a voice media device and not putting the 5505 onto the vlan?
What happens if you put another IP Phone on this port. Does it connect correctly?

Thanks for the reply.
If we plug another IP phone into that port it works OK.

But we found that there is actually a Webpage relating to the 5505.

At my office the phone worked with the Static IP address...but at the customer we had to log into the Webpage for the 5505, and put in the SIP registrar.(Mitel IP)
We also worked out later that you are able to manually put in the registrar, but it is not labled as registrar on the phone, but rather as proxy server?

and to confuse matters you need to press the 1 key 11 times while it scrolls through characters until you can actually put a number 1 in your IP address.

thanks
