We have a cat5500 with a rsm card and gb backbone connected to a 3508 and then to 3524 clusters. Each cluster is its own VLAN. We recently switched one of the clusters over to manage a department with NT 4, DHCP, and NT Print Services. Everything worked fine with NW4.11. The printers have been dropping connections frequently, thus losing the assinged IP address and causing many headaches. Any insight would help.

Thanks in advance.

The ports that your printers are connected to what ports are these? What speed/duplex are the set @? What speed are these NIC's on the printers? My recommendation is to hard set the speed/duplex on the switch and then take it from there... see how things go. If this does not work, send me a show port and show mac for one particular port where your printer is connected to and is having problems.
