IP 403,

We were pulling some cables out of office furniture and setting up as temps. Phone was working fine before, now the display reads please stand bye on display. One of the guys cut the pair of wires instead of removing them from the jack first.

Customer said that the system went down and came back up around the same time we removed the cables.

Cannot give definetive yes or no on cause. Switched sets, still the same. Line has a signal coming in. Can not get to main office doors are locked everyone is gone now.

Any ideas on what to do? Other sets are fine and I will try switching ports on the system on Monday, if no other ideas are said.

Thanks

Cutting a wire whe it is still plug in the ip office is a BIG mistake
Probably they blew up the port on the system
That is why the system did a reboot
Put the phone in a different port and try again

You mean please wait? 54 series phones do that when they are waiting on firmware which i suspect has been wiped. I suggest you setup your IPO to point to a TFTP server that has the 5410 bin files.

Cheers.
