Hey guys,

I have been playing around with the 5340 and have a few observatons.

1) When you create the extension without adding buttons, you will see an "Applicaton" feature on key 16, which is actually the "Phone Application" option if you program is via Multiline Set Key Assignment. This feature is similar to the Settings shutter on the 5235 sets. The customer wanted a different button on this key and we decided to move the feature to a spot on the 3rd page. The button would not work! I moved the button to the 2nd page, would not work. MOved it to the 1st page, but not on key 16, would not work. Moved it to the 16th key, works! Looks like you can only put this feature on key 16. I would assume you would find the same thing with the 5330 set, but at key 8. The one thing I did not try was to put it on the top left keys os the 2nd and 3rd pages (keys 32 and 48). Might work there.

2) DSS keys are only available to the first 24 keys! This is in the TEch Upgrade Course for Rel 7 UR2. The set is also not compatible with the PKM module. The course lists what modules are compatible. I talked with a Mitel rep and he indicated that they will be coming out with at new sytle PKM that will look like the 5340 sets and have the function of self-labling keys.

That's it for now, only had a day to play!

Hi Paterson.

If you want to put an application key on a button you have to use the PC Companion application tool.

This is a crazy idea and i hope Mitel will address this issue soon.

i have also found that if you copy all buttons from one phone to another it copies the application key but it does not work.

Cheers

Thanks,

Ya, one of my customers has a specific template for their users depending on their department. I have been copying keys from default virtual sets and making sure that I don't copy key 16. On the virtual set, the application key is not there, it shows blank. But on a physical set without the buttons changed and before applying the button tempate, the application key is there, go figure!

As for the PC Companion tool, I would have to give it to the IT dept to test before implementing on site.
