5330 Backlight not working?

I have a customer who has just taken delivery of some new 5330 phones and has advised that the backlight is not working? He has tried settings in Application but can only change the Contrast/Brightness, not the Backlight?

Is he on the right software level ???

I believe (not sure) you need to be on 8.0 UR4 or UR5 at least

The backlit version is not software specific.

If the software supports 5330, then it supports backlit.

from my experience it is both model and software specific we had to upgrade a site on 8.0.8.8 to ur 5 to get the phones to be backlit, as tlpeter said think ur 4 will also backlight the handsets. phones wont be backlit on 8.0.8.8 or lower doesnt matter what model you have.

They are on 8.0.9.18 and they are part number 50005804.
I have also asked them to confirm that they have other 5330's working ok. It couldnt be a batch of wrongly labelled phones could it?.........

I dug a lot deeper and I accept that my earlier statement was incorrect. There is a software element.

I found in the release notes of 8.0UR5 that the Backlit sets should be supported by 8.0 UR1 or higher

8.0.9.18 is UR2

Based on this it should be working but...

the site we have them on was ur1 and they didnt work, think we tested on ur 2 and they still didnt work. i susoect its from ur3 onwards, althrough if i had this issue id upgrade to rel 8 ur5 as i find its a more reliable load.
