5312 Phone on Level 7

In the notes I have regarding the 5312 phone it says it is backward compatable. Can anyone tell me if I have to do anything on the Mitel to use the new phone?
It doent appear on the drop down list of phones. we have supplied one to an end user - I have asked him to try selecting 5212 from the list, but I am wondering if there should be some bin file for the new phone

What specific release are you running? If my memory is working correctly, the 5212 isn't supported until release 7.1, so if you're at 7.0, you need to upgrade.

Thanks, Mitel have advised to upgrade and add bin files for the new phones

If you're using the 3300 as your TFTP server, the new binaries will automatically be added when you upgrade the 3300.
