Main site cisco router as vpn server
Remote site Netgear FVS114 as vpn endpoint

This network was existing and the remote site is running NEC ITR IP dterms back to an IPS2000 at the main site with an 8IPLA pad card. NEC phones were set for g729a compression and are still working OK.

We have installed the Mitel at the main site with the ISDN connected as a pass through
Carrier--->MITEL T1E1Combo No1
MITEL T1E1Combo No2 ----> NEC

This is working Ok and at the main site we have some Mitel handsets ( 5330,5340) up and running ok.

At the remote site we cannot get the 5312 handset to work.
It will boot up , but when we make a call it is slow to respond ( digits appear slowly) and then it will reboot.
We also have 2 linksys spa2102 ata's . These are working but the speech is very choppy in one direction.

We did have all this equipment connected in our lab on a Vlanned Hp switch and it all worked flawlessly.
I suspect that it is related to the Wan setup or there are some ports being blocked by their forewall at the main site.
They have insisted that there is no ports blocked.
Is there a method I can use to prove that the Vpn isnt killing the voice traffic.

Is there some sort of test tool similar to the teleworker analsyer?

Sounds to me that you don't have enough bandwidth. Not having enough bandwidth will result in the problems this site is experiencing.

How many phones do you have on site and what is your expected maximum simultaneous call rate?

Main site has a synchronous 4M link

Remote Site 1 has 1.5M/256k with a single 5312 and 2 ata's
No data equipment is used on this link

Remote Site 2 has 512k/256k with a single ata
Single citrix client is used at this site

Compression card is installed in the Mitel
Remote phones are in zone 2 and 3 with intra site compression enabled.

At this stage we cannot even make 1 call that is successfull
