I recently purchased a 3300 IP PBX with a few dozen 5302 phones. My users are complaining because the 5302's wait about 4 seconds after dial completion to connect a call (unless the user presses pound to complete the dial string, which they also say is a nuisance).

I talked with Mitel and they told me that this is just the way the phones work because they are SIP and SIP always waits after dial completion to make sure the digits are complete.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

Any possible workarounds?

Please help!

That is the way it works
press a # after the number
Then it will not look at the timer

yup that's the way ANY SIP phone works. the # is equivalent to send or ok on other generic SIP devices.

have deployed many of these phones and the phone itself is a nuisance. however in mitel defence, the phone was never designed as a "full office phone". it's an occasional use type phone for a kitchen or store room.

good luck
