How the *heck* do you put these things in sip mode? Or I guess a better question is, what should I expect when I put the set in to SIP mode? I know how to boot it up with the ^ arrow key held and change to SIP, but then it reboots and pretty much dies.
I have an Asterisk server up and working with 2 soft phones, now I'd like to throw a hardphone in to the mix, and once that is working SIP trunk it to my 3300 for testing. My issue is how to get these damn phones to boot in SIP and then allow me to add the info for my SIP server.
Any idea's anyone?

(Wow, I think that's the first time I've ever asked a question here!!!)

You need to download SIP firmware from MITEL or someone else. Then you should configure the IP address of TFTP or HTTP server where you have to put the firmware image. Once you do this it will download and save this image. Next time it will check the same place for upgrades but at this point you can disable it.

Yah, I had the firmware already, just didn't know how to get it to download. Says it will use http, but couldn't get that to work. Ended up downloading Solarwinds free tftp server and installing it. Added the firmware there and pointed the set to it. Viola! Up in SIP mode. The documentation is a little lacking with how to do that step in changing a set to SIP.
Set is up on the Asterisk server, next step is to get SIP licensing on my 3300 and getting the * box to talk to it.
