sx200 ICP v5 feature level 5

I upgraded from software level 4 to 5 around the same time I switched from LS trunks to a PRI so I am not sure which caused the issue.

Previously a user wanted his calls to forward to his cell if he didn't answer in the office. I programmed call forward no answer on the users phone (8718 8 being the feature code) to a speed dial setup in form 31. It all worked fine before the upgrade to 5 or the switch to PRI.

I made sure I changed the COS in all groups (phones, vmail, did trunks) to enable option 318 DID to DID trunk connect. Also enabled 316 and 317 just to test.

When an internal caller dials his extension and he doesn't answer it works and is forwarded to his cell. If an outside caller is transfered to his extension it rings the 5220 then gives a busy signal instead of forwarding.

I also have option 319 Extension Non CO to Trunk to Trunk Connect enabled. COS 210 Call Forwarding inhibit on Dial-in trunks is disabled.

Everything on the device interconnection table is set to allow.

Thank you.

You appear to have covered the obvious.

Things to check that may or may not be necessary:
Does the COR of the PRI trunk allow calling to the number required.
-Does the PRI trunk COS have access to speeddial
-Does the PRI trunk COS have call forward to external enabled
-Does the PRI have QSIG disabled

it would be the switch to PRI that did it. In form 30 make sure you allow your PRI trunks to talk to your PRI trunks. depending on how you programmed them they will be DID or E&M. I usually allow all devices to talk to all devices in this form and use COR to restrict anything that needs restricting.

RossBC - He already said the interconnection was checked.

I don't think we are using COR. We are a small company. We use the lodging for long distance restrictions. There is nothing entered in form 20 COR Groups. Although we do have COR #'s assigned to each device, they are not entered into the COR groups. There was COR group 1 entered into form 23 in route definitions but I deleted them and that did not change anything.

I've been researching the Tech Docs all day. Nothing I do seems to be working. I've followed the Call Forwarding - External document down to the i's and t's.

Do any of the flash options anywhere have anything to do with it?

PRI has access to abrev dial is that what you meant by speed dial? PRI has Call forwarding external as well as the device COS.

Weird thing is incoming to outgoing trunks work with DISA using my cell and dialing access code then 9 for outside line. It also works if I dial the auto att with my cell and dial the users extension and he doesn't answer it is forwarded properly. But with DISA I dial the users extension does NOT work after they don't answer and it is forwarded, it only works when I dial the access code and dial 9 for an outside line. Form 26 has COR as unrestricted.

I assuming you mean Q.SIG in the circuit descriptor options because we don't have that feature enabled in the sys options. Q.SIG was enabled in form 13 but I disabled it and that didn't seem to changed anything. According to one document or bulletin it was to be turned on for caller ID. Caller ID still worked regardless.

What do the docs mean when they say –
“External call forwarding will proceed if the trunk is: a DID or Tie trunk, COR restricted in CDE Form 26, and has COS Option 606 (Telephone - Enhanced Answering Position) enabled.”
I tried enabling 606 in the device COS but that didn’t matter. It was already enabled in the trunks COS.

Strangely enough I’m having another problem with a 5340 IP phone. I purchased 3 new IP phones, 2 – 5224 and 1 – 5340. I replaced existing 5207’s with the new 5224’s and they work fine. We have 1 spare IP phone license, 12 total. I programmed the 5340 (for a total of 12) to a new extension and it got the IP, firmware, and registered properly. The only thing it won’t do is dial outgoing calls. It dials internal numbers. We’ve have another 5340 already in operation. Same COS and COR. Fast busy immediately. This phone was sealed in the box.

I’ve tried to think of everything. There is NO reason I could possibly thing of why the new 5340 won’t dial outbound. I’ll copy the COS of the phone that won’t forward external and the COS of the PRI trunks as well.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you.

I assume that COS 7 is your trunks.
I assume that you have programmed them as E&M as per your circuit descriptor
I would try enabling COS option 216 in COS 7. (I usually turn on 313-319 when I want to do any trunk to trunk). The phone is not in the equation you want an incoming E&M (Tie) trunk to connect to an outgoing Tie trunk. Tie trunk to Tie trunk.

if that doesn't do it, I would compare COS 7 with whatever COS your previous trunks were.

Yes, COS 7 is the PRI trunks. It is the embedded T1/E1 module and programmed as T1 E&M according to the document.
I've enabled 313-319 and 206 in the PRI COS. I still get the same results.

Here is the COS of the LS trunks on the AMB.

I figured out the problem and made a temporary fix for the time being.

I thought the brand new 5340 not dialing out had to be the same issue as the call forwarding external not working and I was correct. We are using CPN in form 22. I did not program the 5340's new extension into the CPN database is form 54. Once I did that it dialed out.

My question now is how do I program the trunk or specify what CPN to use when dialing out, or what extension does it use when using call forward external?

The problem is the PRI router will not allow outgoing calls unless the CPN from the SX200 matches the DID's or if no CPN is specified then it uses the default DID in the PRI router.

The only way I was able to get call forwarding - external to work was by deleting *4*6*4 and disabling CPN in form 22, then it forwarded the call.

ENTRY QTD DIGITS TO BE INSERTED CPN COMMENTS

01 1 Local
02 1 *4*6*4 Y Long Distance
03 1 *4*6*4 Y Toll Free
04 1 *4*6*4 Y Emergency
05 1 *4*6*4 Y Panic 911
06 1 *4*6*4 Y International

But I don't want it to be like this. We have different DID's for each department so how do I specify or enter whatever line or extension the call forward external is using? Can I setup a different route for his call forward to go through without using CPN?

Thank you.

Common number CPN setup is done via tenanting in Form 19

I'm not sure what number might be sent out on a call forward. It might want to send the caller ID of the calling party (which for you would be bad). On the 3300 we have the ability to force the caller ID to be the System number. The 200 may have the same ability but I don't work with it enough to know the particulars.

**********************************************
What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

You are brilliant!!!! That worked!

I didn't realize that is where you could set a common CPN or that it was even possible. Form 19 CPN softkey for that tenant works perfectly.

Thank you so much!
