5212 Phones not coming up on version 7.0.x.x

Hi,

Having problems with 5212 and 5201 phones not booting up after upgrade. Most phones on this site work but some don't. The error received is L2&Boot download Error. The happens immediately after the phones sends an ACK for the DHCP.

Running 3300MX 7.0.21.x

any help is appreciated

PS: the phones are working fine on release 6

Did you load the Patch for 7.0.21.4?

If yes, did you reboot afterwards?

yup...rebooted the second time though and the phones came up again...weird.

Have had this on a few sites now. Have to reboot a couple of times, min twice.

I have a feeling you are not completing the patch properly.

I had your symptoms the first time I upgraded and loaded the patch but before the reboot.

I have not had to reboot more than once (5 upgrades)

there's not much that could go wrong..ftp the files to the db directory and run the Install_Patch from the RTC...

anything in particular you can think off that's going wrong

When you type the final command to install the patch, how long does it take to run the commands.

Mine takes 5-10 minutes.

Does yours?

yes it takes about 10 minutes or so

Now that 7.1 is released, probably a non-issue
