The problem moves with the telephone, and I assume its a setting rather then a broken phone.

When someone dials the extension and it rings and the DN button light blinks and you lift the handset, the call doesnt get picked up. You have to press the DN button , but then the call goes on the speaker phone.

Very annoying issue, any help would be appreciated.

thanks

If the problem moves with the phone is sounds like a phone problem
Does this extension have a separate COS or are there more phones with that COS ?

What happens if you end the call by putting the handset down ?
Does it end the call or do you have to press the X ?

It uses regular COS , and i replaced it with a phone that was working fine and assigned it the same extension and had same problem.

Ill test the second question, but i wasnt able to get the call off speaker phone and to the handset, pressing the speaker phone button disconnected the call

thanks

So it is not phone related
Try deleting the extension and recreate it

Check for features enabled using Loc fea ext XXXX

I suspect you will find Headset enabled.

You might also have the handset plugged into the headset jack on the bottom of the set.

when phone is off hook and i litterly lift phone off the desk an inch or two and drop it, i get dial tone, so it does look to be doa..

thanks for everyones suggestions.. ill keep them in mind next time i come across this problem

I have had the same issues on some phones and it turns out that the little spring inside the phone is not raising the switch hook far enough to get dial tone. Try lifting it with your finger and see if you get dial tone.

Ditto for what NISD300

Stretch the springy thingy under the hookswitch.

Oh and another thing,

Where did you learn your technique?

NISD3300 ,

You were dead on! I assume I can remove the hookswitch by pulling / yanking it off, stretch the spring and put it back on?

thanks

No,

You must remove the 5 screws on the bottom (4 corners and center)

Lift off the back plate and the hokswitch spring will be easily accessed.

Just learned by accident really. I had to many people saying their phones had no dial tone but worked on speaker.

I have seen this in tenovis phones
The solution was the sring and putting some butter on the hook switch so it slides better and does not worn out the spring that must :)
