509 Is this light home problem? Expansion boards work fine 509 ports dead

We have a 509 that powers up fine (initial red, then solid green led) All 9 station ports a dead, but the 308EC boards are fine. Is this the "lights on nobody home syndrome"? Should I try a new power supply? I am surprised the 308EC ports all work fine but 10-18 are dead. Any thoughts?

Has inside dial tone been lost as well?

On a lark, back up the system programming, power down the carrier, unseat everything except the processor and if that works. If not, the processor is bad. If it does work, isolate the bad module and replace.

Thanks, yes, it's been in several environments, customers carrier, ours, by itself. Ports are dead. only expansion ports on 308ec boards work. The 509 ports are dead, but it powers up and runs expansion mods. Sounds like more than a power supply.

The power supply can be replaced. But there can be other problems beyond that. My thought would be to replace the processor with another one in kind and transfer the programming via a PCMCIA card.

These are the typical symptoms of the "light's on, nobody's home" problem. A new power supply will not fix this. The processor needs to be repaired.
