Using Crystal asp template to generate report via ActiveX viewer. Was working but now only works the first time and then displays "Error reading records: An exception has occurred". The error number is 507. When IIS is reset, the reports will work the first time but not after that. I can access the report via the report designer and Crystal Enterprise's Console Manager without difficultly. It seems related to IIS but I'm not finding any answers as yet. Has anyone experienced this? Running Crystal 8.5, Crystal Enterprise 8.0 on Windows 2000 with IIS 5.0. Thanks for you help!

Do you by any chance have data saved in the report file? In that case it would appear to work the first time, and you would only experience the problem after that.

However, session("orpt").readrecords is from the RDC, which does not use the Crystal Enterprise engines, so perhaps you have a conflict with things loaded on the web server. Judith Ullman

The problem is related to how the report connects to the database. I had changed the db connection from ODBC to Oracle Server thinking I was solving another problem. If the Oracle Server connected report was the first report run after IIS was reset the 507 appeared. If ODBC report was used first then all reports ran fine. I've reverted back to using ODBC only. Can't explain the difference between ODBC and Oracle Server connection but I'm not going argue with success.
