506e hardware upgrades

I have a spare/Test 506e

i poped it open to see the guts and notesed that it is a 300mhz Celeron Cpu now the question is what will happen if i install a C500 CPU will it work?

the same goes for RAM

I had a simular experence with a RIP (Raster image Processor) that i try to add RAM to but the RIP Made all kinds of noise and did not like that additional RAM (BTW it came out of and identical unit) there is a software lock on the ram size

will i experence this with the PIX ??

I don't think the cpu is a problem, but the memory might be parity memory or something like it ECC memory maybe.
