506/506E Power Supply Compatibility ?

I have a PIX 506E with a faulty power supply.

I've checked with my suppliers and it will take a few days to get a replacement delivered, but they have power supplies for the 506 in stock now.

Can anyone tell me if the power supplies for the 506 and 506E are basically the same, and are interchangable ?

Each unit has it's own power supply, the 506E has a 6pin connector, while the 506E has an 8pin connector due to higher loads (the 506E has higher end hardware compared to the 506)

ehh... I meant the 506 has the 6pin, while the 506E has an 8pin..
