Getting the following error "501 Syntax Error in MIME Attachment" in the GWIA Log can't find out what it means or what the fix is help

Hi dmwolfe -

The following possible fix is from Novell:

"Error: 501
Error: "invalid domain name"
Cannot receive mail from the Internet
Error "Error on SMTP command HELO/HOSTNAME DNS"
Error "501 Invalid syntax or argument"

CAUSE:
The ISP does not have a Mail Exchange (MX) record with the customer's GWIA server address

FIX
There are a few things you should check.
1. Add a Mail Exchange (MX) record with the customer's GWIA server address to the ISP's server
2. Verify the contents on the <FILE SERVER>\SYS:\ETC\RESOLV.CFG are correct.
3. Check the host name in SMTP/MIME SETTING for the GWIA object, has a correct hostname listed.
4. Check the Foreign ID field, for the correct syntax. No commas, colons etc.

Good Luck.
