500V1 Upgrade Questions

Hello All,

I have a customer that wants to upgrade their IP Office 500V1 from 4.1 to 8.1. I guess my first question is can I go directly from 4.1 to 8.1 without any stops in between? Something tells me no but... I too am a long time Nortel guy learning the IPO so any advise from the Avaya pros here would be greatly appreciated. I basically need to know what upgrade I need, How long it usually takes, And some steps to follow would be great.

You need to go to 7.0 or 8.0 first and then go to 8.1
You will need an upgrade license for 8.1 to do this.
Also keep in mind that an upgrade beyond 6.0 requires different licenses like user licenses and IP end point licenses.
