5000 5.1 HX forwarding confusing

Installed 5000 5.1 with Loop Start lines to replace aging Norstar key system. Added trunk keys to each phone, and I had to build a hunt group with an extension group as the only member to get the lines to ring to the attendant and a couple of other phones...it works.

I built a CRA and when I attempted to show the attendant how to forward to the CRA, it failed the forwarding. I tried to forward another ringing phone with the same result, but was able to forward from a phone that doesn't have the lines ringing. I was able to forward the attendant to a phone that was forwarded to the CRA but it still didn't go. Why would it give an invalid forward to the CRA DN?

Your problem is the hunt group.......you cant forward a call recieved via a hunt grp. This is by design.....otherwise all your inbound calls would be following ghe forwarding of all the members of the hunt group. One way to work around this is direct your incoming ringing to the attendent station which is immediately forwarded to the all ring hunt grp via fwd path......this is your control phone which will allow you to manual fwd the incoming call to CRA when you want to.
