500 Set - Short Ring

I have a user that has a fax connected to an analog line. The line is configured for a 500 set. Recently, the user complained that the fax wasn't picking up incoming calls. I attached a standard 500 set. The ring duration is very, very short...probably in the order of 1/4 second. I'm puzzled. Any ideas?

I would check the ringing of the other tn's on that analog card. Maybe it's a bad feeder, port, card, or ring generator. if its programming I don't know what it is.

The other analog ports seem okay. I did find the EXR0....EXR4 parameters in the book. I need to back to the switch and check on this. Maybe the switch got confused and set up the wrong ring?

These 11c machines aren't as robust as I'd like. I still haven't been able to figure out what happened to mine. One day the switch hiccuped while doing some routine maintenance and suddenly, my 3903 started to display "RoomStatus" on the screen. I wonder if it is the local management? Are they trying to tell me something......time to check out.

I ran out of enthusiasm and time. I MOVed the DN to a new TN and wired the fax to the new TN. Problem went away. Looks like a bad port.
