What is in your error log? The error log will tell you EXACTLY what the error is.

dductus,

The error log investigation is a minimum courtesy as would be a description of how you're getting the error, page, what links to follow etc

As siberian says the error log will say EXACTLY what is wrong, when we know what is wrong we can advise to help to make it right

A quick looking at your site shows you don't have the required index.html file. This is an absolute must because it's the start of your site. Put this file in place and go from there.

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!

No index page will give a 404 error , not a 500 error.

And it can be any variety of pages, index.html is not the only option here.

Siberian... you're absolutely correct. The link provided only gave a directory listing. Without a call to a page, or script, there can't be a 500 error. Since we're not given any info other than "I'm getting a 500 error", we have no way of replicating this error on this site.

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!

this is the error log

change the permissions on the files to give the web user executable rights

From a Linux prompt
man chown
man chmod

--Paul

Type :

chmod 775 /home/art-for-/public_html/cgi-bin/links/myfavorites.cgi

Where do i type the command or can i just chmod it in the using my ftp?
