5 o'clock shadow needs to go

Anyone know of a technique that would allow me to get rid of someones 5'oclock shadow?

I have this footage of and interview... the effects are all done, its cut and now someone mentioned that there is a bit too much hair on his face... i just need to bump it back a bit. So if anyone has any ideas please let me kno

You might try to COLOR CORRECT it away, using an adjustment layer with some blur/color levels correction.

However, I think you're looking at a rotoscoping nightmare. Or you'll get a soft edge. You might be able to precomposite it down and use a CRUSHED LEVELS version of it as a luma matte, but with something as non-descipt as "5oclock shadow", I don't know if you'll be able to pull a good hicon from it.
