5 digit dialing through Magix

What's needed to connect a Magix switch in MN., through an EPN, to a Definity switch in PA.? Want to 5 digit dial to other locations. This would greatly reduce LD charges. I know I'd have to connect to the MN. router, send the digits through the cloud, and then through the PA. router but if someone out there has configured anything like this before, I'd appreciate their knowledge.

The Magix is locked into 4 digits, BUT, you could use the NLUDP routing tables to add digits to the pattern.
So, say your Definity was 6xxxx for the extensions you could have the 6 added in the NLUDP Routing tables. If the Definity 5 digit numbers were all over the place, then renumber the pool of trunks that connects to the Definity, to a single digit, say 6 again, and then dial the 5 digits. When the Magix saw 6 it put it to the Definity pool, then the other 5 digits dials where you want to go.
From the Definity out, you're going to have to strip digits to match the dial plan of the Magix. TipHelp@charter.net

I hope I'm explaining what's needed correctly. The Magix will get it's DT from the Definity for outgoing LD calls. Now, if the Magix calls me, it would dial 9-1-555-123-4567. If we can go through the Definity, the Magix would only have to dail 34567. I know TIE trunks would have to used but I can't formulate the configuration. All help is welcomed.

Renumber the Magix Tie Trunk Pool to 6.
Give each extension an ars dial out code of 6.
From any Magix extension, dial 634567 (6 digits) and the call will go through to the Definity to extension 34567. Another way of saying this is that 6 gets the caller to the Tie trunks, and 34567 dials the remote extension. TipHelp@charter.net

Are you currently using 5 digit extension numbers in your definity system now?

Ghostin, we are using 5 digit dialing at our Definity locations. We have a hub and spoke configuration where the smaller sites connect via EPN. They do not have their own Magix switch. The Magix site is much larger than the other locations. I'm debating if the change will be cost effective or not.

reggielfreith - just remember this can be a risky configuration. If the tie lines are cut OR if you have a pbx problem, the remote sites can't make calls unless they also have their own local trunks. I work for a large company that is in the process of removing this kind of hub and spoke arrangement nationwide. We had a pbx go down in one city (actually a cable cut) and nobody at 17 other sites in the city could make calls because they were comletely dependent on the pbx.

I have over 1500 branch offices with this configuration and they all want to 5 digit dial across the country. We do have redundant T1s in case the Definity's go down. Also we keep a few POT lines for backup. But, I need to explain to the Powers-That-Be how risky and costly this is.
