5.6 odbc driver

i received an interbase db and need to be able to look at with MS Access. I need a driver for interbase 5.6. i downloaded an opensource version of Interbase 6.0, but it won't open the database because it is a 5.x version. i've found places that sell the driver for 5.x and 6.0 for around $250, but that seems a little steep for a 1-time use of a driver.
