5.5 to 2000 Migration

I am in the process of doing a exchange migration from 5.5 to 2000 and am running into some problems. Our new server is not replicating with our 5.5 server. Anyone have any ideas what to look for or know of any good white papers to assist in a smooth, yea right, migration. Not a exchange guru but have been tasked with this migration so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any tips.

you need to install exchange 5.5 active directory connector and create two way connection between exchange 5.5 and 2000.

Thanks for the quick responses guys! Boxes are talking to each other and things are looking up. Have moved a couple of users to new 2000 server and they seem to be working fine. Anybody have any experience, do or don't using the Ex-merge util? Thanks again!
