Hi,

We've been having several problems with our exchange 5.5 server (planning on upgrading to 2003 -- but been very busy)

anyway, latest problem is that drive space is severly low, causing services to stop running. I've tracked it down to being the paging file size (reduced that) and freed up 200mb... stayed around 150-200mb for a good month. then today when we came in we had 3mb... suspect staff emails are filling up the drive space.

any suggestions on what we could do to free up some space, short of deleting/archiving old staff emails that are sitting there from who knows how long just taking up space.

???

So you're running out of disk space as opposed to the database nearing 16GB, but lots of the advice in faq10-6005 is close.

Basically, you either have to increase the amount of disk space, or reduce the amount of stuff on the disk. Your mail database file only grows when there is no more white space inside it, so reducing the amount of mail stored will help (as it increases the white space in the file).
