hello,

I'm having a problem with a new user i'm setting up. We're running Exchange 2000 on Win2K.

I've created the user, the RUS is always running, stamps out the smtp address and an X400 address. I can log into the account via Outlook installed on the server and Outlook Web Access. I can send email to anyone within my organization, i can send mail to anyone on the outside. I can receive mail from the inside but not the outside. When i send a test message from my hotmail or comcast account it gets bounced back to me with:

Reporting-MTA: dns;mymailservername.mydomain.com
Received-From-MTA: dns;mySMTPmailgateway.mydomain.com
Arrival-Date: Tue, 30 Sep 2003 10:13:59 -0500

Final-Recipient: rfc822;briotest@mydomain.com
Action: failed
Status: 5.1.1

Additionaly, if i try to set the account up in Outlook on any other machine other than the server, Outlook setup tells me that the name can not be found in the address book. However, i can go to the Exchange System manager, click on the GAL, properties, preview and it's there. I can also see my user in the address book on my workstation.

Also, everyone else works fine, they can send and receive to whomever. This is just happening to new users. I've created 3 different users and all have the same problems. My old users are fine, any new users are plauged with this problem. Nothing in the event log seems out of the ordinary.

I'm kind of stumped here. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks.
