4x8 Questions -voicemail/upgrade

I have a 6x16 compact unit but it has a 4x8 software card. To upgrade this unit to 6X16 what would I need to know or do? The 4x8 is DR5 and I was also wondering what voicemail would be compatiable with this. Thanks in advance for the help been watching this board for a while and everybody is very nice and quick to help.

It is not clear to me what system you have from your post. Looks like apples and oranges.

This may help. If you have a Compact 6x16 it will support 6 lines 16 sets now. If you have a Compact ICS 4x8 you will need a keycode to make it an 8x16.

If you have a 6x16 DR5 then the cabinet/SW may or may not support voicemail. If it does support voicemail a flash unit would work. But it would likely be cheaper to buy a CICS/CallPilot package and get all the toys.

If it is a Compact ICS I would go with a CallPilot (CICS may require a SW upgrade). The SW upgrade should solve the keycode issue at the same time.

Search the web and from posted pictures determine your cabinet for sure.

A good vendor would give you an answer in minutes and likely for free. It sounds like there is money involved regardless of the what you have. If you get good advice from a vendor don't forget them when you buy.
