I am running on HP-UX 11.0 64-bit.
The database is 9.21.FC5.
I have a 4gl program that compiles and runs fine when using 4GL version 7.20.HE1 - 32-bit version.
When compiling the same source code with 7.30.FC4 - the 64-bit version - I get an instant core dump when executing the compiled program.
I am going through an onsoctcp connection in both cases.

Any thoughts?

Unfortunately, this is one of the toughest symptoms to diagnose. I really don't have any thoughts. Would it be possible to post or send me source?

I'd be glad to look at it. email works for me if it works for you.

Thanks!! But, the source is copyrighted and proprietary and all that stuff. I am thinking about opening a case with IBM/Informix and sending them the core file and letting them analyze it. Ever had any luck with that?
I also have a newer version of the 4GL compiler but have not hade time to install it.

Ok. I understand proprietary. Here are the two places I'd look:

1) Badly formed datetimes. Generally, a badly formed date provides a runtime error. Not so, with a datetime.

2) The input statement. I wish I could be more specific, but with nothing to go on .....

Have you compiled this under the Rapid Development system? If so, does it do the same thing?

I think you'll have to start putting Display statments in your code trying to isolate where it fails.

Ed
