GETTING A 49.2f.d8 ERROR ON AN hp cp5525 HAVE RELOADED THE FIRMWARE and re-seated the formatter -- the unit is not currently networked or connected in anyway to a computer, it's not a bad job. have also cold reset to no avail any ideas?

Can you print anything from the printer like a toner level or config? What was this unit doing before it had the error?

prior to this it was stuck permanently stating " checking printer" would never advance further than this, cannot print anything but engine tests, can get into pre-boot menu no problem, tried another formatter but was unable to use it do to the encrypted disk drive was locked to that formatter and did not want to monkey around with the data on it as it was a good working unit that belonged to another department, i installed another disk in it and loaded the firmware to it, however the problem appears on either disk, so i have a big giant paper weight now with flashing lights, the error does not appear in the service manual.

Im not 100% familiar with this model but does it have any removable memory(RAM)? This wouldn't still be under warranty?

no removable ram, does have a hard disk drive which it loads it's firmware from. not under warranty.

Just out of curiosity, did you test the old HDD to see if it was bad?

Have you tried booting it up with no toner in it? Is the fuser of this model easily accessible? I'm drawing at straws here honestly. You seem to have attacked all of the obvious avenues so far.
