48-port or 2x24-port Gigabit Switch reccomendations?

Anyone have a good reccomendation for a 48-port or 2x24-port gigabit switch? I want all 48 ports to run at Gigabit speed. Several thousand dollars is too high. I'm looking for $1000 for a 48-port switch or $500 each for 24-port switches.

Good luck finding any quality for that price.

I highly recommend the HP Procurve line (in your case the 2824 or the 2810-24) for their reliability, performance, and price per port, but they are 3x the price you're looking for.
