470 SIP Trunk Issue

Yesterday I spent hours trying to get SIP trunking between a 470 and Comcast working. Incoming calls were OK but I got a "Call Failed" whenever trying an outgoing call. Comcast tech support was little help.
They just told me there was "something" wrong with the header but couldn't tell me exactly what. I looked at most of the documents in the Mitel KMS having to do with the 400 and SIP trunking and changed just about every option having to do with outgoing calls in the 470's programming without any luck. Any ideas?
 
you need to get a packet capture
thats the best way to sort out any sip issues
- set a monitor port on a switch and connect a laptop up with wireshark

once you have the trace filter it by sip
most of the transactions are reasonably easy to follow

outgoing issues can often fail due to teh calling Line ID being sent
if that number doesnt match what the carrier is expecting then they will reject it

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
