46XX phones with Netscreen Firewall's

i had my new 4602 phones setup over vpn's where the IPO was on the LAN with the Netscreen 25 with version 5.0.8 firmware, on connecting the phones at the remote site came up with blank displays and wouldnt connect.

Did some updates today and got netscreen firmware 5.1 which mentions in it they tested with Avaya 46xx phones and now after the upgrade on the firmware they work fine, seems netscreen finally got Avaya's proprietry protocols down pat and made their application inspection work properly.

interesting the 46xx phones had no breakup when the remote links started doing things like browsing, but put the old 44xx phones on with same configs and the voice breaks up badly when links start to load.

44xx are non IP phones - do you mean to say the newer 4602 and 4620 work fine under load, but the older 4606, 4612, and 4624 have problems?
