I have seen quite a few posts with no access to " * to program " on 4621SW's. None of the posts detail a solution.

I have a number of them running 2.9040, 2.920a, and 2.930a. When the phone boots up the option for * to program has disappeared. It used to be there, because the vlan was entered manually 'cuz the customer didn't get the DHCP scope correct.

Is there any way to get this prompt back, or sneak in a different way. I have taken some phones to different networks/customers to test and the phones don't act any different.

At the boot point where it would normally show up, I have hit * mute CLEAR with zero success. I have also pressed and held * and # and Mute and Hold individually with zero success.

Thanks

in the 46xx file check these fields. The phone needs to boot up with this new file then be reset again. It is not intuitive. 0 means they can used the keypad. ie; it is NOT controlled.
