Anyway to adjust this centrally? Its pretty damn annoying that the call appearance takes up two collumns by default.

Under options on the phone, you can change the call appearance width to half, which is more standard...don't know why Avaya doesn't set this by default....

JeremyParr,

yes there's a way to do it centrally. setup ftp backup/restore feature, use one phone as a reference (i.e. set up all settings as you want them to be), backup these settings to ftp server (if you set up it properly, backup should be automatic) and then duplicate the file on the ftp server for all extensions you want. on the ftp server, there should be a lot of files named "xxxx_4620data.txt", where xxxx is extension number. you get the idea.

Interesting, however on my IP phones on our S8710 I don't have the option to change the call appearance width. We are running a
CM 2.

jordy5535, this is a function of the phone and not of the CM. what phones are you using, what FW level?

Regards, Frank

check your 46xxsettings.txt for OPTSTAT, you can switch on and off user functions with that option:

Options status flags. Consists of 3 “bits” of the form
abc, where each letter represents a 0 (disabled/off)
or 1 (enabled/on). The first bit, a, controls the setting
for all options not controlled by the second or third
bits. The second bit, b, controls the setting for
view-oriented options (for example, the 4620’s View
IP Settings option), if applicable. The third bit, c,
controls the setting for the LOGOFF option, if
applicable.

jordy5535,

do a 'list registered' command on s8700 and look what software versions your phones are running.

jordy5535,

by the way, there's 2.4 firmware available on support.avaya.com. i have two ip-only customers upgraded all their phones to this version, no problems so far. seems that even a few bugs were fixed in this release. :)
