4610SW remains in Ext. prompt

I just got an Avaya 4610SW IP Phone. So far, I have managed to update it with the SIP firmware of s10d01b2_2_2.bin (don't know if it is the latest version). Anyway, I tried to configure this IP Phone as an extension to my FreeSWITCH. The IP Phone boots fine and shows me with Ext. #=OK New= prompt for me to enter an extension number. The problem here is once I entered the extension number, it expects me to enter a numerical password while my FreeSWITCH extension is configured with an alphanumerical password. Is it possible to disable this prompt? If not, at least let me enter an alphanumerical password.
