Hi, has anyone noticed a problem with 4610 sets not hanging up properly? It seems the handset doesn't always sit far enough down into the cradle for the switch hook to be depressed when hanging up a call. This doesn't happen to all the sets but it happens enough to make me believe it really isn't the users fault. They could double check to make sure it is hung up by looking at the call appearance, though I don't feel they should have to do this.

To make things worse we recently implemented "Off Hook Alerting" for our staff phones. Our front desk is notified every time a phone is off hook for more than 10 seconds.

Have you checked that the reversible hook switch clip (for wall mounting) is the right way up?

I don't know if your phoes are wall mounted but I have noticed that when I reverse the receiver clip to the wall mount position, it is very easy to set the receiver on top of the tip of the clip and it feels like you have hung up the phone but it is resting on top of the clip. Try it right at your desk to see what I am talking about. Just set the receiver straight down instead of hooking it in. We phone people are well versed with the concept but many typical users just reach over and set the receiver straight down on top of the clip.

Hope this helps,
Rick

If you are using the adjustable-tilt bases, either set them on the setting with the least incline or remove them. We had trouble initially too and ended up removing the majority of the bases.
