Hi guys, Has anyone found any issue with upgrading the firmware on the 46xx phones from 2.3 to 2.7. Basically if I reset values. Th ephone still gets the 2.3 bin and even if I remove all of the 2.3 bin then it will never pick up the newly donloaded 2.7 bin. Just cant work out why it wont upgrade. Any help or assistance would be gratefully received. Also please let me know if you have been able to accomplish this.
Cheers

If your DHCP server is in another subnet/vlan, then you need the 2.704 firmware. It's on the support site.

Thanks Jaynec, But this doesnt resolve the problem either. Any further assistance is much appreciated. The phones that wont load the new firmware are 4602D02A-2001. The newer phones that do load the firmware are 4602D02B-2001. I wondered whether older versions of phones had an issue with the new firmware.

Help me please if you can

The latest for the 4602's is 2.3
here's text from the 46xxupgrade.scr (for 2.7)
There is a 4602+ that takes 2.8 though... Dunno what the hardware differences are.

I just had this happen on a 4620SW phone, I upgraded it last week to 2.7 using a test TFTP server, and I then rebooted it today in the production server, and it downgraded itself to 2.3. How can i see if I have 2.704 ? Anyone using 2.8?

Well, if you have 2.3 on the production TFTP server, then yes it will downgrade. I've been using 2.8 on my phone for a while.

You just need to look at the 46xxupgrade.scr file on the given tftp server and it will tell you what it contains. (it's just a text file, open it in notepad)
You can have any BIN file you want on the tftp server, it's the SCR file that tells the phone what file to load.

Yeah, I ran across that after posting this, for some reason I always thought the phone wouldn't DL the older version. I really just needed to check the TFTP on our box and , ended up downgrading my boss' phone.
