Hey we have a 4550-48T PoE that we got from CDW. It's stacked with 2 other 4550's. Anyways this one switch keeps cutting the power to all the ip phones. It has happened twice already. Basically when it happens, i check the PoE management through the web GUI and that unit is showing 0 watts of DTE power consumption. Then when I reboot the single Unit, it comes back up with like 42 watts of power consumption. The switch isn't even full, theres only like 24 active connections.

Any thoughts? I have not configured any power settings. Not sure if I should read up on the PoE documentation or get a replacement.

Thanks.

I would just check and confirm that PoE hasn't been disabled on those port (for whatever reason or by whomever). You can usually tell pretty quickly in Device Manager by looking for the "RED" P in each port.

Beyond that it sounds like you might want to RMA that switch.

Cheers!

Ya we already did. Thanks. It is doing this spontaneosly. There is nobody messing with anything.

are you drawing more power per port than the switch is rated for?
