Inside the front drawer of the 4550 there is a fan. This failed on one of our printers so I need to replace it from another 4550 we use for spare parts. How can I completely remove the drawer? Or at least get the front piece off that contains the fan?

I tried removing the front only, but it is attached with a type of screw you can't undo (I don't know what you call them). I then tried removing the whole drawer, but on the left side, there is an "arm" with a wire inside that attaches to the top of the drawer and I don't see any way to disconnect it.

If you want to save some time and probably some money this is the solution:

1. Open the upper front drawer.
2. Remove the image drum and keep it in a dark place until done fixing the fan.
3. The fan is seated in a kind of lid, open that one.
4. Cut the three wires to the fan and remove it.
5. Insert the new fan and solder the wires.

The reason for the cutting/soldering is that you avoid dismantling the whole drawer plus the fact that the fan is wired directly to the connector in the drawer making it allmost impossible to replace without new wiring or a new connector also.
