4506 port distribution

Is there any advantage to distributing heavy users over different modules?

I have 4506 with 4 X WS4548

Right now all heavy users (servers) are on one particular module.

Throughput is not that great. Wondering if spreading them out between the other modules would help.
 
It might not be a bad idea , though I would check the ports first for any kind of errors on the ports , for any port that is full duplex you should not see any kinds of errors on them .
 
What kind of SUP module are you using in your 4500? Do you have any other modules in the switch that are loaded as well? Some of the newer SUP's have pretty good switching capacity so four fully-loaded 48 port 10/100 cards on their own won't trouble a newer SUP at all.

A layer 2 healthcheck would be a good move, i.e. checking for port CRC's/frame errors etc, ensuring duplex/speed are consistent between switch and hosts,

I have one port (fiber to another switch) which is showing a bunch of input errors but no indication what the errors are.

Interface G2/5 indicates that it is taking 6707520 input errors, since it's last clearing: 5d19h

I would try cleaning the fiber ends, or swapping out the gbics, or systematically moving each end to a new gig port.
