I have a 450 with all patches on it. We have a PRI and the range is 0500 through 0599. calls come in and go out fine. i am providing my own OLI, if nothing is in the field the BTN shows 0509.

-when a users forwards to an outside number (cell phone)the caller gets dial tone.
-when calling ext to ext the forward works correctly.
-when using a trunk from the same bcm450 ( pressing 9 and getting a trunk) the call is forwarded with no trouble.

i called the LEC and asked them to monitor the trunks as i made these calls and he explained that since i was providing the OLI, his switch would not route a call the it didn't recognize the digits being sent as called id. So, the callers id was being passed and the CO didn't notice it as part of the range and dropped the call. He says that if he provides the OLI for all calls, that this issues wouldn't occur. which i agree with considering this is the first i have run into this.

Ideas?

does this help

Open Element manager, in the Task Navigation Panel click the Configuration tab, extend "Telephony", extend "Sets" and click on "Active Sets", now click on the "Capabilities and Preferences" tab at the top of the Active sets window.

You will now see a list of all the working extensions on your system. Click on the DN you want to change, click the “Capabilities” tab in the bottom window. Tick the “Allow redirect” box.

The "Allow redirect" option in "Capabilities and Preferences" must be ticked to allow call to be forwarded to external numbers.

I have seen this with so called Dynamic PRI.Shares the voice and data.

the LEC is calling this their version of VoIP.

whats the solution? how can i provide the OLI and allow users to foward off site?

This setting defaults to the DN of the device.

The public OLI is the number your extension displays when dialling out. You can programme the BCM450 so that either the main number or your DDI is displayed.

Open Element manager, in the Task Navigation Panel click the Configuration tab, extend "Telephony", extend "Sets" and click on "Active Sets". The active sets will be listed on the right hand side of the page. One of the column headings will be “Pub. OLI”. Double click in the “Pub. OLI” field against the relevant extension and type in the last 6 digits of the extension’s DDI. Pressing the tab key will save the change

and also use the redirect option..

gibblett i appreciate your help, i do. however your posting info that has been completed already. the oli works. the forward works from inside the office.

callers outside the building calling a phone that has been forwarded get dial tone instead of the number.

How bout the answer to this question. how do i program oli for ALL possible caller id info that could come through the switch from the outside world?

Under the programming of the PRI is the "Send Name Display" checked. I would uncheck it, and see what happens. Some networks do not like the send name display feature. It has caused me some problems in the past.

Also one thing you typed made me wonder.

The caller from outside gets a dialtone. I am assuming this would be the internal dialtone generated by the phone system. If it was grabbing a digital trunk it would not get a dial tone, they would just hear silence maybe. I am thinking that maybe it is grabbing some copper trunks from another pool or the forward is not being programmed in the phone correctly.

This sounds silly but I have had to enter the cell
numbers in the dial plan digits to get it to work.
