Hi all,
I had a (printer) tech come out and unplugg the 4424LD+ and DSS for the operator. When LD+ and DSS were plugged back in, DSS does not work. [shadessad] It has several lights, according to office. When I attempt to reprogram with WinSPM, it does not recognize extension as having a DSS.

What gives?

Thanks in advance

Sounds to me like he didn't plug in the Adapter and the little Power Unit.

Merlinman, is there a power supply for the 4450 DSS??? PS> I have been unable to find documentation on Avaya's website for this unit. Got any?

Thanks, Bob

I do not have one, but in their Pocket Reference I found this info:

Auxiliary Power Supply for DSS 4450 when connected to 4424D+

NAME: 4499-PWR

COMCODE: 108596412

APARATUS CODE: 1219A

If this ever worked, you must have had a power supply. It is a black power cube with two modular jacks on bottom - essentially an "in" and "out". Telephone cables goes from wall to PS "in", then from PS "out" to 4424 telephone. Cable between power supply and telephone should be 6-pin with conductors for all pins. DSS plugs into AUX port on bottom of 4424 telephone.

Thanks guys, I had the site pull transformer and plug it in again and voila, it works. Apparently printer tech had plugged DSS power in FIRST and then phone.
