i have 5 4400 series sets on a IP403 Office system with a VCM5 module.
the user can here the incoming person but the incoming person get broken up words, and a warble sound. Is there any setting to adjust on the ip sets (4400 series).

thanks

I think you mean the 4600 series phones. Check your codec - try both g.729 and g.711

Also are you using headsets on the 4600 phones?

DO the IP sets connect direct to the IPO or Via a seperate data switch?

It is preferable to use a seperate switch & this MUST suport DifServ for QOS to avoid problems

they connect through they power cable and switch that comes with it through a local network. For example....the set a the user's desk is connected through there PC. What switch would I need?

Thanks for the response.

Just to confirm - network wall jack to power supply "line" jack, power supply "Phone" jack to IP Hardphone jack with the picture of a jack, IP Hardphone jack with a picture of a computer to PC's NIC card. Correct?

There are many choices for switches that support QoS. The Avaya Cajun P333T is one. Another example is the Cisco 2950.
