Hi all,

Does anyone know if the 43p supports only specific hard disks or will pretty much any 4.5gig / 9.1gig 7200rpm wide scsi disk be accepted by the system?

Cheers,

James

The following were supported

2502: 9.1GB Ultra-SCSI 1-inch (25mm) High Disk Drive
2503: 18.2GB Ultra-SCSI 1-inch (25mm) High Disk Drive
2900: 4.5GB Ultra-SCSI 16-bit Disk Drive
2909: 18.2GB Ultra-SCSI 1" High (25mm) Disk Drive
2910: 9.1GB Ultra-SCSI 16-bit Disk Drive
3000: 4.5GB SCSI-2 F/W 1-inch (25mm) High Disk Drive
3010: 9.1GB SCSI-2 F/W Disk Drive
3034: 4.5GB SCSI-2 F/W Disk Drive
3095: 2.1GB SCSI-2 Fast/Wide Disk Drive

If you're in UK try they are quite good at sourcing spares and fairly cheap too.

They don't need to be IBM features (unless you want IBM to support them) but non-IBM disks will configure as "other scsi disk drive", so you can use just about any ultra or scsi-2 disks you like.

Hello,

1. Read the docummentation available for your machine.
2. If you already have AIX installed, you can searche the ODM and see what kind of hdisk your AIX version supports
3. Use the command:

#lsdev -P -H -c disk

You will see all disks supported

I hope this can help !
