We have an HP4240n with multiple trays. I want to set up one printer that prints just to trays 1 & 2. I also want to set up another printer that prints to tray 3 only. Is that possible?

Yes.

You would install two copies of the printer driver, and share them with different names (i.e. HP4240 and HP4240-3, for tray 3)

Both printer drivers would, of course, point to the same physical port or IP address.

In the defaults for the printer drivers, you can tell it which tray to print from.

If you don't want the first one to *EVER* print from Tray 3, then you would not tell it that tray 3 is installed in the device settings. :)
