Hi,

I've got 5 3com switches, four 4226T's that hold all of our workstations. Then a 4924 that we have our servers plugged in to.

Right now on all 4 of the 4226T's our Uplink port is wired into a port on the 4924 server switch.

What I'm wanting to do is make 2 pairs of aggregated 4226's to link together for additional speed and fault tolerance.

Then, if possible, configure one of the normal ports on each 4226 to be another "uplink" port, and hook it up to the server switch.

Is this possible the way we currently have our network set up?

Simple,

Use LACP to create aggregated links.

Decide which ports you are going to use on the 42xx and 49xx for your aggregate links. Enable LACP on these ports and then connect the cables. That's all there is to it, if you have two 100Mb links between the 42xx and the 49xx it will create a 200Mb link and LACP load balances the traffic, if a link goes down you should only lose 1 ping
