I have a problem. This is a test server and I'm trying to figure out why my messages are not being sent out. I can receive messages great. its fast and quick but when i try to send messages out, i get errors. I'm running GW8.0.

I found this through novell:
but it doesn't show a solution rather just states the problem again in the resolution. Any ideas?

Here is some log:

Make sure you have good DNS resolution all the way around.

Reset the gateway:

Shut the gateway down.

Rename or delete the SEND, RECEIVE, WPCIN, and WPCOUT directories in the gateway directory (MAIL1/SYS:\GW\PSJADOM\WPGATE\GWIA\)

Start the gateway back up.

Usually 420 TCP errors are related to breaks in communication. I don't necessarily see a DNS problem but that's hard to tell sometimes. Looks like it might not be resolving dns or your packets just aren't getting out.

You could find TEL.NLM (Telnet for Netware) and try to telnet directly to those hosts, for example:

TEL gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com 25

See what kind of results you get.

Also make sure your NIC link speed and duplex match and you're not getting any errors reported.. You can check this in Monitor under LAN/WAN.
