412 Rebooting when Merge

Ok we have a newly acquired customer that has a IP412 version 3.2(61). They are saying it will reboot the system even when it says it's going to merge it. I have not been there to witness this first hand. I will get a chance to go look at it later this week. Wondering if you guys had any thoughts.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
