406v2 (BRI) and Cisco 2600 (VIC2BRI-NT/TE)

Hi all,

We have some trouble to trunk a Cisco 2600 router and a IPO 406v2

406v2(3.1) fit with one BRI trunk card
Cisco 2600 fit with one VIC2BRI-NT/TE trunk card

Which protocols should we setup in the cisco ?
basic-net3 ?

You can't connect over BRI to another PBX (router), only PRI is supported if I'm not mistaken...

It is posibble to piggy back an IPO of another witch using bri provided the host switch's isdn2 can be set to S-Bus

it is sometimes necessaary to set the tei of the IP Office trunk to 127.

alternativly you could ad an So8 module to the IPO & connect the cisco to this.

Thanks for reply, but in the knowledgebase, So8:

"RJ45 socket. Used for connection of ISDN terminal devices.
Note: These ports appear a lines within the IP Office configuration. However they cannot be used for connection to external BRI lines."

I put a 8 port BRI card in my Definity, created the data stations, then plugged them into my BRI ports on my Cisco 3600. It works like a charm. I couldnt find any support on this when I was trying to do it, but finally got it to work on my own. Good luck!
